About Carlton Cullins
Born in Louisiana. Raised in Texas. Parents were both educators with a wide range of interests. Raised to treat others with respect, to live an honest life, work hard and be thankful for what I have. I grew up with a lot good friends, played music, played sports and enjoyed the outdoors. Moved to Austin after college and played in bands for a decade. Eventually I found my way to health & fitness by way of personal training. Started my own company in 2008. Married the love of my life a few years later. Adopted a cat and a dog. I continue to work as a personal trainer focusing my energy of the message of self-care. My story is much deeper than this but hopefully you get the picture. My goal has always been to leave the world better than how I found it. I hope you will too.

New Weekly Tipz! Have you ever wanted a 15-minute (or less) workout, that maintains your Strength & Power work, builds Lean Muscle & burns Body Fat, counts as “Cardio” (what i call Conditioning), improves Hip Mobility & Posture and gives you an easy way to get an even tan or at least a few healthy minutes out in the sun(vitamin D)? Well, this little routine i came up with years ago to practice the Kettlebell Swing. It also works great for all the other stuff i mentioned earlier. Keep in mind, you don’t need a kettlebell. You could use other things. Just be safe. I call this diddy “Staring Your Shadow Down” or “Groundhogs Day”. Enjoy.

New Weekly Tipz! This is a longer video (15 min or so) but a good video for anyone thinking about exercising while at work or while traveling. I go over some basics of what you need to know, things to consider, basic equipment and how to organize quick workouts that are very effective. Just so you know, you don’t have to watch the whole thing in one sitting. It’s ok to break it up. And by all means, feel free to recommend it to anyone you think might benefit from it.

New Weekly Tipz! How bout a recap on the most important obstacle to conquer when working towards any goal(s): The truth. Do not avoid the truth. It’s best to just swallow bitter pills right from the start. The more i work with people the more i see clearly…do whatever it is that you know you should be doing but aren’t and most likely things will improve. And if you don’t know what they are, it’s ok, help is available. All you have to do is seek it out.

Plyometrics (Jumping/Hopping)
Plyometrics are great for most anyone, especially athletes. Because of this, they might not necessarily be for all beginners. Plyometrics are essentially jumping exercises which can place a lot of stress on the body. Some people might not be ready for this. If you are injured, check with a doctor first. This a great reference […]
